The end of Summer and for two to three weeks in between each season is the time for the stomach and the pancreas/spleen meridian. During this time we are led to express our desire to live and to find our place using our own taste for life. We renew our ability to respect others and ourselves and to have the courage to start and complete projects. This is the time to take action in life. The sense that is most animated during this season is the sense of taste.
When this meridian family is well nourished you will better experience:
- Better communication in your work
- An awareness of your physical limits and the ability to pace
yourself, especially at work
- An increased ability to start and finish projects according to your
own taste in life
- More respect for yourself and others
- Better digestion and pancreas function
- Healthier prostate or uterus
- Healthier knees and bones
The organs related to this season are:
- Nutriment #10—Stomach
- Nutriment #18—Pancreas
- Nutriment #17—Bones
- Nutriment #21—Prostate
- Nutriment #28—Uterus
- Nutriment #26—Thalamus
When this meridian/vital current is disturbed you may experience:
- A tendency to live only through your work
- A lack of respect towards others
- A tendency to be contemptuous, arrogant, success driven,
ambitious, scheming
- For men, a male chauvinist temperament
- A strong desire for power over others
- Excessive logic, reasoning, and excessive rationalism
- A desire to always be right
- A problem of being dominated by your work or boss
- A feeling of wavering on important issues, a difficulty in taking
concrete action
- Forced action, doing things because you “have to”
- Stress from wanting to do too much, a feeling of being overwhelmed
- Inability to take action or complete projects, “laziness”
- Problems with digestion
- A weakness in the pancreas
- Diseases relating to the prostate or uterus
Nourish this entire season with Yin/Yang followed by #10 and #18. You may also add #17, #21 (masculine) or #28 (feminine) and #26 for a few weeks at a time or for the entire season.
